[4] In 1867, Heinrich Mattoni (1830–1910), an Italian-Czech native of Karlovy Vary, began bottling mineral water abundant to the region and selling it.

[6][7] Mattoni expanded the operation by building a modern bottling plant and establishing distribution infrastructure to supply his product to spa guests in Kyselka and throughout the region.

The company's portfolio also includes the Hungarian Szentkirályi and Theodora mineral waters,[9] the Austrian Waldquelle,[3] and the Serbian Knjaz Miloš.

[10] Since 2018, Mattoni holds an exclusive license to produce and distribute PepsiCo beverages in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Austria, Serbia, and Montenegro.
