Maurren Maggi

Maurren Higa Maggi (born 25 June 1976) is a Brazilian retired track and field athlete and Olympic gold medallist.

She is the first Brazilian woman to win an Olympic gold medal in an individual sport.

She claimed that an anti-scarring gel sheet that she used contained the anabolic steroid in its composition.

Maurren was suspended for two years, preventing her from participating in the 2003 Pan American Games.

[3] She finished second at the 2009 Troféu Brasil Caixa de Atletismo to Keila Costa, losing the event for the first time since 1998.
