Maximin-Dominique Consolat

Maximim-Dominique Consolat was born on 4 August 1785 in Le Bar-sur-Loup, Var, France.

[1] His three uncles worked as merchants in Saint Petersburg, Russia[1], where they had established the first Franco-Russian trading operation to date.

[1] [2] In 1800, at the age of fifteen, Consolat moved to Russia, where he worked for his uncles.

[1] In 1834, he paved the way for the Canal de Marseille and the construction of the Roquefavour Aqueduct.

[1] He received treatments for his recurring stomach upsets in Vichy.
