Maxwell Close

Maxwell Charles Close (25 June 1827 - 25 January 1903) was an Irish Conservative politician who sat in the House of Commons in two periods between 1857 and 1885.

His father built Drumbanagher House, which he inherited, along with a large estate in County Armagh.

[3] Close died of pneumonia at Drumbanagher House on 25 January 1903, at the age of 75.

His estate was inherited by their son Major Maxwell Archibald Close (1853–1935), an officer in the 13th Hussars, who married Lady Muriel Albany Stuart-Richardson (1869–1928), daughter of the 5th Earl Castle Stewart.
