Md. Golam Sarwar

Golam Sarwar is a Bangladesh diplomat and secretary general of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation.

[4] Sarwar joined the Bangladesh Civil Service in 1991 as a foreign affairs cadre.

[7] In July 2023, Sarwar was appointed the 15th secretary general of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation, becoming the third Bangladeshi to hold the post since its creation, and succeeding Esala Ruwan Weerakoon of Sri Lanka.

[5][8][9] Abul Ahsan and QAMA Rahim were the first and second Bangladeshi secretary generals of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation.

[10] M. Shameem Ahsan was appointed to replace him as the high commissioner of Bangladesh to Malaysia.
