Melody became famous at the age of 10 with her song "El baile del gorila", one of the biggest summer hits of 2001 in Spain.
[6] Melody was discovered by rumba flamenca veteran and producer El Fary[5][8] after her father sent him a demo tape of her singing.
[10] The lead single "El baile del gorila", which was written and composed by José Antonio Benítez Serrano,[11] became a big summer hit in Spain.
The soundtrack album, which also includes tracks by Jon Secada, Gloria Estefan, Huey Dunbar, and other well-known Spanish-language artists, went on sale on 23 March 2004.
The song, titled "Cu'mme", was part of Frangoulis' second international album Follow Your Heart, which was released on 9 November 2004, on Sony Classical.
[34][35][36][37] By 2005 Melody had disappeared from the media and waited three years to release another record, dedicating that time to her personal development.
[43] At the end of 2008, Melody collaborated with Los Vivancos,[2] a flamenco dance group,[45][46] on a song titled "Amante de la luna",[2] which was written by Manolo Carrasco and Fernando Bermúdez.
