Memphis, Nebraska

Memphis is a village in Saunders County, Nebraska, United States.

Memphis was established in the 1880s when the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad was extended to that point.

[4] A large share of the early settlers being natives of Memphis, Tennessee caused the name to be selected.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.09 square miles (0.23 km2), all land.

25.5% of all households were made up of individuals, and 10.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

The racial makeup of the village was 94.34% White, 1.89% Native American, and 3.77% from two or more races.

There were no families and 2.8% of the population living below the poverty line, including no under eighteens and 21.4% of those over 64.
