[1] Latif ran for the seat of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab as an independent candidate from Constituency PP-137 (Sheikhupura-IV) in 1993 Pakistani general election but was unsuccessful.

He received 26 votes and lost the seat to a candidate of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).

[5] He was re-elected to the National Assembly as a candidate of PML-N from Constituency NA-133 (Sheikhupura-II) in 2013 Pakistani general election.

Latif reportedly verbally abused female family member of Murad Saeed.

[15] He was re-elected to the National Assembly as a candidate of PML-N from Constituency NA-121 (Sheikhupura-III) in 2018 Pakistani general election.
