At the 1971 European Indoor Championships he won a silver medal in 4 x 800 metres relay together with Krzysztof Linkowski, Zenon Szordykowski and Kazimierz Wardak.

Individually, he finished fifth in the 800 metres at the 1974 European Indoor Championships,[2] and fifth in the 1500 metres at the 1975 European Indoor Championships.

[4] His personal best time in the 1500 metres was 3.38.77 minutes, achieved in July 1975 in London.
