Michael Gibbons (Medal of Honor)

Michael Gibbons (November 15, 1866 – February 27, 1933) was an oiler serving in the United States Navy during the Spanish–American War who received the Medal of Honor for bravery.

Gibbons was born on November 15, 1866, in Ireland and after immigrating to the United States he entered the navy.

[1] He died at his home in Ireland in 1933, and until 1999 was buried in an unmarked grave in Old Kilmeena Cemetery.
