Michael J. Dowling

Michael J. Dowling is president and chief executive officer of Northwell Health.

[1][2][3][4] He played hurling at University College, winning a Fitzgibbon Cup medal.

[5][6][7] Dowling was named executive vice president and chief operating officer when he joined Northwell Health.

[10] He has also received the National Human Relations Award from the American Jewish Committee,[5] the Ellis Island Medal of Honor,[5][11] the Distinguished Public Service Award from the State University of New York’s Nelson A. Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy and the Gold Medal from the American Irish Historical Society.

[9] Dowling has been a member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies and chairman of the North American Board of the Smurfit School of Business at University College Dublin, Ireland.
