Michael J. Elliott

Michael John Elliott OBE (31 May 1951 – 14 July 2016) was a British journalist and executive, long-based in the United States.

Awarded an OBE in 2003 for services to journalism, Elliott previously held senior executive positions at Time Magazine, Newsweek, and The Economist.

After leaving journalism in 2011, he became president and CEO of the ONE campaign, the global development organization founded by U2 lead singer Bono.

He relocated from England to the United States in 1986, and subsequently became the publication's Washington bureau chief and political editor.

[12] In 1989 he was awarded the Wolf Prize in Agriculture “for distinguished contributions to basic science and its successful translation into practice in the fields of animal health and crop protection”.
