Michael Thomson (born 23 August 1960)[2] is an Australian news presenter and journalist.
[3] Thomson began his career working with newspaper Daily News in 1980.
[3] Thomson left the network in 2011 to become the Marketing and Communications Manager at Surf Life Saving WA, and returned in 2013 to become Head of Sport for STW9.
[5] Thomson began presenting the flagship 6:00 pm Nine News Perth bulletin in January 2018, after Emmy Kubainski and Tim McMillan were axed at the end of 2017.
[6] In May 2020, Thomson began presenting Nine News Late, which was introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic.
