Midland, South Dakota

Midland is a rural small town in the southeastern corner of Haakon County, South Dakota, United States.

[7] The town was named from its location halfway between the Missouri and Cheyenne rivers.

[9] According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.34 square miles (0.88 km2), all land.

The racial makeup of the town was 94.6% White, 4.7% Native American, and 0.8% from two or more races.

42.4% of all households were made up of individuals, and 15.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

About 6.3% of families and 11.4% of the population were below the poverty line, including 8.1% of those under the age of eighteen and 19.4% of those 65 or over.
