Midtjyllands Avis (also known as MJA) is a local newspaper based in Silkeborg, Denmark.
It is one of the oldest newspapers in the country, being established in 1857.
MJA was first published in 1857, and its first issue appeared on 6 May that year.
[4][5] MJA is published daily except Sundays[2] by Midtjyllands Avis A/S, a subsidiary of Mediehuset Herning Folkeblad A/S.
[9] The circulation of MJA was 18,000 copies in the first half of 2000, making it one of the twenty best selling newspapers in Denmark.
