Mies Callenfels-Carsten

Callenfels-Carsten was born on 3 September 1893 in Roermond.

Callenfels-Carsten was a member of the Pulchri Studio, the Haagse Kunstkring, (The Hague Art Circle), the Kunst zij ons doel ("Art be our aim"), and the Bataviasche Kunstkring (the Bataviasche Art Circle).

[1] Her work was included in the 1939 exhibition and sale Onze Kunst van Heden (Our Art of Today) at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.

She was the forelast of the nine so called Veerse Joffers [nl], female artists who lived in Veere between 1907 until 1992.
