Mike Edmunds

Mike (Michael) Edmunds FAS FInstP FLSW is a British astrophysicist, known for his research on the interpretation of the chemical composition of the Universe and the origin of interstellar dust.

[1] When Edmunds was 12, his family settled in Woking, Surrey, where he started at the local grammar school.

He received his undergraduate degree in physics in summer 1971 and proceeded to gain his doctorate, also from the University of Cambridge.

[2] He has served on many committees and panels of the UK Research Councils, The Royal Astronomical Society and the Institute of Physics.

[4] His main areas of research have been in the determination and interpretation of the chemical composition of galaxies and the Universe.
