Michael Charles Lake (born 16 November 1966) is an English former professional footballer who played as a midfielder.
In particular, Lake is remembered at United for his long range goal against Southampton in a 4–2 victory at The Dell.
Lake also scored a second in the same match, again from long range, this time aided by a deflection.
In search of regular first team football, Lake joined Wrexham in November of the 1992–93 season, first in a three-month loan which was then made permanent in a £40,000 deal later on in the season, much to the delight of the Wrexham fans, of which numerous had written to Lake personally asking him to join permanently, upon the end of his loan spell.
