Mikiko Kainuma

Mikiko Kainuma (甲斐沼 美紀子) (born 1950) is a Japanese climatologist at the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology.

She is a lead author on the Fourth and Fifth Assessment Report of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

At the 15th Annual Meeting of the Integrated Assessment Modeling Consortium (IAMC), conducted virtually from November 29 to December 1, 2022, the consortium celebrated the achievements of Mikiko Kainuma from the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies by bestowing upon her the IAMC Lifetime Achievement Award.

[8] This prestigious award was given to Kainuma for pioneering contributions to Integrated Assessment Modeling (IAM) in Asia.
