Outside of the Nepali Film industry, Milan Chams was honoured by the previous President of Nepal, Mrs. Bidhya Devi Bhandari, the “Jan Seva Shree Padak”, one of the highest civilian awards in Nepal.
He is considered to have popularised going oversees to shoot Nepali films; bringing scenes shot in Norway, Turkey, UK, Romania and Azerbaijan to the Nepali audience.
He is a trendsetter, screening Nepali films internationally with red carpet premieres, most notably in Leicester Square, London, United Kingdom with the movie premiere of Gurkha Warrior.
He made his transition into directing movies in 2014 with Hasiya.
It was immensely loved by the Nepali audience and became a massive hit.
