[2] Pollack was nominated by President Lyndon B. Johnson on May 24, 1967, to a seat on the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York vacated by Judge Wilfred Feinberg.
He was confirmed by the United States Senate on June 12, 1967, and received his commission the same day.
His service was terminated on August 13, 2004, due to his death in New York City.
