Member State of the Arab League The Ministry of Transport (Arabic: وِزَارَةُ النَّقْلِ, romanized: Wizārat an-Naql) is a government agency of Syria that specializes in transport in Syria.
The last distribution of these tasks and responsibilities was by issuing Legislative Decree No.
209 of 2003 , which stipulated the establishment of a public institution with a developmental service called "General Corporation for Road Transport" which linked to the Minister of Transport starting from 1 January 2004.
As for what relates to the local road and bridge network in the governorates, it remained the tasks of the "Ministry of Local Administration" and the "Directorate of Technical Service" in the governorates.
The Ministry of Transport was formed in 1920 and that were formed over the course of a century, as it was responsible for many sectors of services provided by the state to citizens, and played an important role in building the infrastructure of the Syrian economy through the tasks and specializations associated with it in the following fields: roads and bridges, communications, mail, transportation, irrigation, radio, oil and mineral wealth, electricity, construction and development, public utilities, civil aviation, meteorology.
