Minneota Township, Jackson County, Minnesota

Minneota Township was organized in 1866, and derives its name from the Dakota language word meaning "much water".

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 285 people, 115 households, and 84 families residing in the township.

There were 115 households, out of which 27.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 71.3% were married couples living together, 1.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.1% were non-families.

24.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 7.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

About 8.0% of families and 9.1% of the population were below the poverty line, including 12.5% of those under the age of eighteen and 6.7% of those 65 or over.
