In 2015, MinterEllison moved into new premises at the Governor Macquarie Tower in Sydney and Collins Arch in Melbourne.
This was part of a strategy of diversification into non-legal professional services such as consulting and project management.
[11] It provides pro bono legal assistance through bodies including Justice Connect, QPILCH, Public Interest Advocacy Centre, ACT Pro Bono Clearing House and the Law Society of Western Australia.
[12] It participates in the New South Wales Expert Advice Exchange,[13] and a number of social enterprises including the Mwembe Foundation, the FOCUS women's leadership program and the Third Link Growth Fund.
Recent awards won by MinterEllison include: The firm has worked on the long-term leasing of the ports of Brisbane, Darwin, Newcastle, Botany and Kembla, and, most recently in 2016 the Port of Melbourne which was leased for 50 years for $9.7 billion;[20] the A$1.14 billion joint takeover of Aquila Resources Limited[21] by Boasteel Resources Australia Pty Ltd and Aurizon Operations Limited; and the sale by Lloyds Banking Group plc[22] of its Australian asset finance business, Capital Finance Australia Ltd (CFAL), and its corporate loan portfolio, BOS International Australia Ltd (BOSI), to Westpac Banking Corporation for approximately A$1.55 billion in total.
