Mir Mehdi Etimad (1900 – 1981) was an Azerbaijani poet and writer, the author of the words of the hymn of the Azerbaijan People's Government.
He made a speech in journals and newspapers that were printed in Tabriz such as "Azerbaijan", "Vətən yolunda", "Urmiya", "Covdat", "Azərbaycan ulduzu" "Azad millat" "Democrat" etc.
After learning Arabic and Persian, he studied at the Mirza Abulqasim Khan's usuli jadid (modern) school.
[6][7][8] The National movement which started in south part of Azerbaijan in 1941-1946 opened the new stage in Etimad's creativity.

He wrote the words of the hymn of the Azerbaijan People's Government, Jahangir Jahangirov composed a song to it.
