Mkhangeli Matomela

Mkhangeli Manford Matomela is a South African politician who represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature until August 2013, when he left the legislature and the party to found the breakaway Kingdom Governance Movement.

Matomela contested the 2014 general election as a candidate for the Kingdom Governance Movement, but the party did not win any seats.

[1] He served as Speaker from 1999[2] and, in May 2004, Premier Nosimo Balindlela appointed him to the Eastern Cape Executive Council as MEC for Education.

[3] He resigned from the Executive Council in January 2007, citing personal reasons, and was replaced as MEC by Johnny Makgato.

[8] During the 2016 local elections, the party contested council seats in Mnquma in the Eastern Cape.
