Johnson was born and raised in the Gold Coast-Tweed region and attended Palm Beach Currumbin State High School throughout her teenage years.
[3] She trains at Griffith University's Gold Coast campus under world renowned coach Michael Bohl.
[5] She was a bronze medalist at the 2023 World Aquatics Championships in the open water team event.
[6] She was a gold medalist at the 2024 World Aquatics Championships in the open water Team event.
[9] In open water she won the silver medal behind her training partner Sharon van Rouwendaal (Netherland).
