Moneta is an unincorporated community in O'Brien County, Iowa, United States.
[3] The name Moneta is supposed to be a poetic form for the island of Anglesey.
Eventually, the school would completely close down in 1976, and the city would later disincorporate by 1996;[7] The final recorded population of Moneta was 29 at the 1990 census.
Not much is left of the former city, as the school is one of the only remaining remnants.
