She also obtained a Doctor of Literature and Philosophy in Communication from the University of South Africa in Pretoria.
[2][3] Over the next six years, she nurtured the department into the Faculty of Journalism, Media and Communication (FJMC).
[4] In May 2019, UCU promoted Chibita to the rank of full professor, in recognition of her body of work.
She is also the second Professor of Journalism in Uganda, after Prof Goretti Linda Nassanga of Makerere University.
