The gasworks had its coal delivered by the Coleford, Monmouth, Usk and Pontypool Railway and was frequented by Charles Rolls to fill up his balloon.

A special branch line of the Coleford, Monmouth, Usk and Pontypool Railway served the gas works at Wyesham.
