The Kalahari worm lizard (Monopeltis leonhardi), also known commonly as the Kalahari spade-snouted worm lizard, is a species of amphisbaenian in the family Amphisbaenidae.
The specific name, leonhardi, is in honor of German ethnographer Leonhard Schultze-Jena.
