Mordechai Tzipori (Hebrew: מרדכי צפורי, 15 September 1924 – 29 May 2017) was an Israeli politician who served as Minister of Communications from 1981 until 1984.
Born Mordechai Bankovich-Hendin in Petah Tikva during the Mandate period, Tzipori attended a religious school in his hometown.
He was interned in British detention camps in Eritrea, Kenya and Sudan, where he was involved in digging escape tunnels.
He completed an officer's course in 1950, graduated from the IDF Command and Staff College in 1959, and studied at Tel Aviv University.
