In 2004 and 2005 Hamoud played in the Norwegian top division for FC Lyn Oslo.
Hamoud was called up to the Norway senior national team on 27 January 2009, as a part of caretaker coach Egil Olsen's squad against Germany, but remained on the bench as an unused substitute.
With 54 league matches, he became an important part of the team that won the 2013 Tippeligaen, and secured 2nd and 4th place in 2012 and 2014, respectively.
