Mount Mannering (New Zealand)

Topographic relief is significant as the summit rises 1,270 metres (4,167 feet) above the Classen Glacier in one kilometre.

The nearest higher neighbour is Mount Aylmer, four kilometres to the southwest.

[3] The first ascent of the summit was made on 7 March 1914 by Otto Frind and Conrad Kain.

[5] Prevailing westerly winds blow moist air from the Tasman Sea onto the mountains, where the air is forced upward by the mountains (orographic lift), causing moisture to drop in the form of rain or snow.

The months of December through February offer the most favourable weather for viewing or climbing this peak.
