Sir Murray Frederick Brennan GNZM (born 2 April 1940) is a New Zealand surgeon, oncologist, cancer researcher, and academic.
From 1985 to 2006, he was chairman of the surgery department of the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, United States.
[4] In 1967 he was appointed as an assistant lecturer in physiology and surgery at Otago,[3] and in 1970 he moved to the United States and undertook laboratory and clinical work at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital, Harvard Medical School and the Joslin Research Laboratories.
[5] Brennan has authored over 1,000 publications and has served on the editorial board the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Surgery since 1985.
[7] Brennan was awarded an honorary Doctor of Science (DSc) degree by the University of Otago in 1997.
