She came from a large literary family: her father was prolific writer and helped found the Chicago Daily News,[2] while her mother was a published poet.
[citation needed] Meggy toured the English provinces with Alice Verlet, and gave concerts in Canada (1906)[7] and Newfoundland.
[8] In 1917 she returned to London to give annual recitals, play with the Queen Hall's orchestra under Sir Henry Wood.
[10] Upon her return to Australia in 1917, Meggy received an invitation from Henri Verbrugghen to teach at the New South Wales Conservatorium.
[1] In June 1918, she gave the first performance of the complete cycle of Beethoven and Mendelssohn cello sonatas in Sydney with James Messeas.
