Naika Foroutan

Naika Foroutan (Persian: نایکا فروتن; born 24 December 1971[1] in Boppard[2]) is a German social scientist.

Naika Foroutan lived for 11 years in Tehran and left Iran in 1983 together with her family.

In the years 2000 to 2004 she received a doctorate at the University of Göttingen at Bassam Tibi in the thematic area "inter-civilisation cultural dialogues between the West and the Islamic world" as a result, she was there as a lecturer in the field International relations.

From 2008 to 2013, together with her colleague Isabel Schäfer, she led the research project "hybrid European-Muslim identity models (HEYMAT)".

[8] In cooperation with the Mercator Foundation, Foroutan organized the "Young Islam conference-Berlin 2011" for the Humboldt University in Berlin.
