Nathan Ausubel (June 15, 1898 – 23 November 1986[1])[2] was an American historian, folklorist and humorist.
Ausubel was born in Leżajsk, Galicia, the sixth of eight children in a Jewish family, and immigrated as a child with his family to Brooklyn, New York City in 1902.
Ausubel enlisted in the Jewish Legion's 39th Battalion during World War I and fought in the Jordan Valley.
This included detailed descriptions of previously unknown Lost Tribes of Israel, as well as information on the Khazars.
