National Cybersecurity Alliance

The National Cybersecurity Alliance (NCA),[1] is an American nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization which promotes cyber security awareness and education.

NCA's core efforts include Cybersecurity Awareness Month[2][3][4] (October), Data Privacy Day (January 28), and Cyber Secure Business.

When Cyber Security Awareness Month first began, the focus was on simple precautions such as keeping antivirus software up to date.

In 2009, DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano launched the National Cybersecurity Alliance (NCA) and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Cyber Security Awareness Month in Washington, D.C., becoming the highest-ranking government official to participate in the month's activities.

Today, leading administration officials from DHS, the White House, and other agencies regularly participate in NCA events across the United States.
