Apart from prosthesis and orthosis, a prosthetist and orthotist is the only licensed professional in India to prescribe mobility aids and appliances, i.e., crutch, wheelchair, walker, etc.

Occupational therapists use purposeful, goal-oriented activities to achieve their goals which are to help the individual to be functionally independent having satisfactory life.
