The National Youth Employment Program (NYEP) of Ghana was established in 2006 by the John Kufuor administration.
[1] The functions of the program are: The NYEP employs Ghanaian youth between the ages of 18 and 35 years who are literate, illiterate, able and or disabled.
In January, 2011 it was announced that the bank was going to assist the NYEP with funds from a multimillion-dollar facility to support the Youth in entrepreneurship module.
[2] World bank in February 2011 provided $65 million to help train the youth in entrepreneurship module.
The plan estimated that through the implementation of new modules and NYEP policies, the program would engage 400,000 youth by the end of 2013.
