Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton

Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton is a large US Navy medical treatment facility in Oceanside, California, part of the United States' Military Health System.

The current hospital operates in a 500,000-square-foot, four-story building that opened on January 31, 2014.

The new complex was completed under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 by the Naval Facilities Engineering Command.

Noted architectural achievements include a large solar energy system in the parking structure.

It was established in 1943 on Rancho Santa Margarita y Las Flores, near Lake O'Neill, to care for the sick and wounded during World War II.
