Nehbandan

Nehbandan (Persian: نهبندان)[a] is a city in the Central District of Nehbandan County, South Khorasan province, Iran, serving as capital of both the county and the district.

[4] The people of Nehbandan are Parthians and Aryans who have lived in this area since pre-Islamic times.

[citation needed] At the time of the 2006 National Census, the city's population was 15,998 in 3,817 households.

[citation needed] Precious stones in mines along with agriculture is another reason for the importance of Nehbandan.

[citation needed] Nehbandan's climate is classified as hot and dry due to its proximity to the central desert of Iran.
