Neil Douglas (physician)

Sir Neil James Douglas (28 May 1949 – 23 August 2020)[1] was a medical doctor and was president of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (RCPE) 2004–2010 and chairman of the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges (AoMRC) 2009–2012.

[3] In 1983 Douglas was elected a member of the Harveian Society of Edinburgh and served as Medical Secretary from 1995-2003.

[4] In December 2003, he was announced as President-elect of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, taking up the post of president in March 2004.

[7] He was Chairman of the Founding Council of the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management (FMLM).
