Neophyte is a Swiss member of the Acolytes who can phase his body and others, allowing complete intangibility and high-speed transport through inanimate matter.

The youngest member of the group, he was assigned tasks of little importance and did not accompany the other Acolytes into battle.

However, he eventually helps the X-Men infiltrate the Acolytes' base before leaving both teams to search for meaning on his own terms.

He retains his powers following M-Day, moves to Utopia, and later helps Cyclops fight the Nimrods.
