Willmer, FRS (15 August 1902 – 8 April 2001) was a British academic who was Professor of Histology at Cambridge University from 1966-69.
This was a significant based on an immense amount of labour that went into the process of exploring and satisfying the dietary and other requirements of cells and tissues that were grown in the laboratory.
He was also an artist of oil paintings detailing landscapes, mainly in Cambridgeshire and Mid Wales.
His eldest brother, Arthur Willmer, was a first-class cricketer and British Army officer, who was killed during the Battle of the Somme.
