New Day New World

New Day New World is the ninth studio album by the Canadian new wave band Spoons.

[1] The songs "Beautiful Trap" and "For the First and Last Time" were originally performed live as far back as 2015,[2] but on 16 October 2017, the former was released as a free downloadable single on the Spoons' website.

Horne's daughter, Alexis, performs background vocals on one of the songs, and Deppe's son, Matthew, has his piano melodies featured on "Life on Demand" and "Landing Lights".

[5] An online contest was held for the album's first single, "All the Wrong Things (In The Right Places)", where fans could submit chants to be featured in the final mix of the song's chorus.

The album was not necessarily going to be called New Day New World, but due to the subject matter and feelings evoked by the photograph, they found the name of the song to be fitting.
