Newport 27S

[1][2][3][4][5][6] The design was built by Capital Yachts in Harbor City, California, United States, starting in 1974, but it is now out of production.

[1][2][7][8] The Newport 27S is a recreational keelboat, built predominantly of fiberglass, with wooden trim.

It has a masthead sloop rig, a raked stem plumb stem, a plumb transom, an internally mounted spade-type rudder controlled by a tiller and a fixed fin keel.

[1][2] The boat has a draft of 4.25 ft (1.30 m) with the standard keel.

[1][2] A tall mast was optional, with a mast that was about 2 ft (0.61 m) higher, for sailing in areas with lighter winds.
