Nicholas Gilman Thacher (August 20, 1915 – March 11, 2002) was a United States diplomat.
[1] Thacher attended the Lawrenceville School in New Jersey and graduated from Princeton University with a degree in economics.
[1] He entered officer training school and served aboard the USS Pensacola during World War II.
He served in Karachi, Jeddah, Calcutta, and Tehran, where he was deputy ambassador to Iran.
[5] In retirement, Thacher moved to San Francisco and worked for Wells Fargo.
