Nicolas Pierre Jean Lhernould (born 23 March 1975) is a French-born prelate of the Catholic Church who has been archbishop of Tunis since 2024.
While there he asked to be prepared for the local priesthood, making him one of the minority of priests there who were not members of a religious congregation.
[1] In July 2019 he was appointed to a five-year term as national director for Tunisia of the Pontifical Mission Societies.
[3] His episcopal consecration in the Cathedral of Saint Vincent de Paul in Tunis by Cardinal Cristóbal López Romero, Archbishop of Rabat, on 8 February 2020[5] was the first in Tunisia since 1962.
[8] He was elected to a three-year term as vice-president of the Regional Episcopal Conference of North Africa (CERNA) in February 2022.
